Squid Game is a South Korean survival drama series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk. The show follows a group of 456 financially struggling individuals who are invited to participate in a mysterious game with the promise of a massive cash prize. The participants, all in dire situations, agree to play in hopes of solving their financial problems. However, the games soon take a dark turn: losing a game means death.

Throughout the series, the protagonist, Seong Gi-hun, faces numerous moral dilemmas as he forms alliances and navigates the increasingly brutal nature of the games.

As the number of players dwindles, the show explores themes of human nature, survival, and the corrupting influence of money, while also critiquing societal inequality. Ultimately, only a few players remain, and Gi-hun must confront the hidden mastermind behind the game.

The series became a worldwide phenomenon due to its intense drama, complex characters, and commentary on social issues, especially the divide between the rich and the poor.
